USA – Protector turned Bully?

At 7:35 am on the morning of December 7, 1941 an event took place that would change the world forever. This event would ignite a series of happenings and consequences over next 74 years. It has had an impact, so profound, that it has affected the whole globe and all of us to an extent that no one would ever have foreseen.

The attack on Pearl Harbor. A sleeping Giant was awaken and drawn into the 2nd World WarBefore that day the United States of America was a fairly peaceful country. It was developing into a potential world power with vast resources, growing into an industrial and economical giant.

With this declaration of war by Japan, an ally of Germany, the industrial might of the USA was unleashed and would directly lead to the establishment of production, technological and manufacturing capabilities, that this world has never seen before. With its massive industrial and manufacturing capabilities, the USA unleashed a military might that, together with its Allies, defeated Hitler and later Japan. The battles that the Americans had to fight against the Japanese in the Pacific were horrific, vicious and brutal. The legend was born. The attention of the world was grabbed by the USA and their heroics in fighting for freedom and stability of all nations. The world realized that the USA had true might and true power, with the capability of defeating any threat to the world order.

And rightly so. Truth.

After the horrors of the 2nd World War the world needed a Protector, a Guard and a Champion that would ensure that evils such as Fascism would never threaten the world order again. Meanwhile a massive, powerful monster has been lurking quietly in the East. The USSR and its Communist doctrine. Then an increasingly irrational Hitler attacked the USSR and they were drawn into the 2nd World War which led to the fall of the German Reich and eventually the division of Berlin. The Soviets wanted their part of the spills and the West wanted theirs.

The birth of the Cold War.

The USA really stepped up. It became the Protector of the World. The Cold War led to a tit for tat, keeping up with the Jones’s kind of “war”. “If you build a ballistic missile, I will build one that’s better”, and “if you build 10 nuclear warheads, I will build a 100” and so on and so on. Threat countered by a bigger threat. Back and forth between the USA and the Soviets. Fighting for world domination. Trying to prove who is bigger, better, more powerful. Like two school boys. It was not just military power but also expanded to technology, industry, the space race etc. With the rest of the nations on earth holding their breaths, weighing up the pros and cons of Communism and Capitalism.I truly believe that if it wasn’t for the USA and its stand against Communism in those 3 or 4 decades after the 2nd World War, this planet would have been a vastly different place today. We would be living in a world submerged in Communism. One can only shudder at the thought of that.

Superhero. Definitely. The USA was my Superhero while I was growing up and the vast majority of the Western world admired and looked up to the USA. America was the bastion of freedom, capitalism, free speech and expression.

Truth. No argument. But that was then, and this is now. So what has changed?

What’s this story of the USA being a bully?

Cast your mind back to school. And bullies. How do they start out? At first, maybe just coming to the aid of someone. Sorting someone out that was hurting another. It is the look on everybody’s faces afterwards that has the most influence. What does the bully see? Wide-eyed looks, mostly scared looks, that he interprets as admiration. Together with that he feels power. Power to do as he wants to, whenever he wants to with no one daring to challenge him. That is the start…

The  Enola Gay dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima in Japan ,on August 6, 1945. The blast killed 80,000 people and demolished square miles of the city. Many thousands died from wounds and radiation poisoning.in the days that followed. As quoted from www.history.com. Three days later, on August 9, another bomb was dropped on the city of Nagasaki, killing nearly 40,000 more people. A few days later, Japan announced its surrender. The devastation of these acts was so horrific that it shocked the whole world, even the Americans. There is no doubt that the dropping of the Bomb shortened the 2nd World War and arguably saved many lives.

But what was the real feeling leftover from this act? Power. Boy, real real power. Now I have something that terrifies all other nations. But I am good hey? I stopped those evil Japanese and ended the war, right? Self-justification.

Another direct consequence of the 2nd World War was the explosion of the weapons industry and the corporate power related to the military, in the USA. War means money. Big big money. After the War, large numbers of German scientists relocated or where relocated to the USA. Names like Albert Einstein(Physics), Werner von Braun (Rocketry), Erich Traub (chemical weapons), Otto von Bolschwing (Intelligence) and many more are well known, world-wide.

These scientists were instrumental in taking the USA to the dawning of the New Age. The Age of technology, invention, computers, corporates and brand names established America as “The” Superpower. But a very large chunk of the American economy is cemented in the weapons and military industry. So much so, that some economists feel that the USA cannot economically survive without a war every 10 years.

A list of wars that America has been involved in over the last 65 years:

1950–53 – Korean War

1961 – Cuba: The Bay of Pigs Invasion

1959–75 – Vietnam War

1983 – Grenada

1991 – Iraq and Kuwait: Gulf War

1995 – Bosnia

2001– War in Afghanistan

2003 – War in Iraq

2011- Libya

You can draw your own conclusions on the above-mentioned information. Starting with the fight against Communism, the USA attacks has changed, slowly but surely, from protection to more self-righteous and arrogant (bully) interventions/attacks on other countries. And the world applauds. Or rather – don’t dare NOT to applaud.

So how do they do it? Propaganda.

220px-Bundesarchiv_Bild_146-1978-086-03,_Joseph_Goebbels_mit_Familie   Joseph Goebbels, the Nazi minister of Propaganda, said “Give me control of the media and I can turn any country into a nation of pigs” And he did. Also by Joseph Goebbels: “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.” Goebbels was an animal, who murdered his 6 small children before killing himself.

The 2 tyrants or dictators that the USA have eliminated over the last 20 years, Saddam Hussein and Muammar Gaddafi were truly brutal, sadistic killers. The world is a better place without them. What is disturbing though, is the ease and arrogant self-righteous, self-glorifying nature with which the USA has justified their actions. Those dictators were very bad people and had to go, but look what has happened to Libya and Iraq. With the first Gulf War, Iraq invaded Kuwait and the USA intervened and all felt it was justified. The war against Iraq that followed changed the ball game forever.

The war on Iraq in 1991 was the 1st major war that was streamed live on television, minute by minute through channels like CNN, Sky etc.The world was captivated, enthralled and in awe. Television viewership was at unprecedented highs. With that came money. Tons of it. It is obvious and noticeable to any clear thinker that the USA has become so self-absorbed with its own power that it does just what it wants. It uses propaganda through media (CNN, Fox, Sky) to justify and prepare the public for pending invasions or attacks on sovereign states.

Take Libya. No one will ever convince me that the CIA could not go into Libya and assassinate Gaddafi. The USA wanted war. It fuels their economy; it turned a country into complete anarchy, enabling the USA to get to the thing that they want most. Oil. Libya is a complete mess. Anarchy cannot describe the devastation in that country. No one has control, no government, armed militant factions murder and destroy everything. The population is terrified. All the promises from the USA that they will establish a stable democratic government in Libya, have evaporated.

Try to imagine yourself as a pro American Libyan that was ecstatic when the USA attacked Libya to free its people from dictatorship. Freedom. Liberty. That is what the Americans promised, isn’t it? And now? Those same Libyans’ daughters are raped and then butchered, their country is burning, there is complete anarchy in the streets, and live as normal does not exist anymore. Imagine what these people are thinking now. What happened to all those promises by the USA? No wonder these people turn to terrorist groups like Isis

It is well known that politicians that supported the attack on Libya and promised peace and stability, refuse to be interviewed on television news channels today. They are terrified to be confronted about the promises they made back in 2011. They knew when they made those statements, that it was just propaganda. Truth wrapped in Silk, to justify the brutal attacks on Libya. The same for go for Iraq. Complete chaos and anarchy.

It benefits the ideals of America to keep the Middle East and Africa in chaos. With no stable governments, with factions fighting each other for control, militant terrorist, with anarchy, with rampant crime and fearful populations. Makes it much easier to get hold of these countries’ resources.

I recent times a few things have changed. The most significant is the introduction of smartphones to the mass market. All of a sudden the world’s population has access to the internet and information. Information that THEY can select the source of. Gone are the days when the only source of information was the state controlled media, through which propaganda are fed to us on a daily basis. Channels like CNN, Sky and Fox. Yes they are state controlled. Don’t fool yourself. People have more than one source of news at their fingertips.  This has led to people watching Russia Today, Al Jazeera and other news channels for an alternative view on what’s happening in the world. Do yourself a favor and watch RT or RJE for an hour or so, instead of your normal news channels. You will be shocked by the other side of the story. See how young children are slaughtered in Gaza, old people blown to pieces in Syria, whole families decimated in Libya and whole communities destroyed by drones in Afghanistan.  Not that I’m saying these channels are not also propagandistic. They are. But somewhere in between you will find the real truth. It is sobering.

Another thing that has changed in last few years is that the USA has changed from an industrial giant to an IT giant. Mostly due to Messrs.’ Bill Gates and Steve Jobs. With that, or maybe as a result of that, the rise of China as an industrial super giant.

The world order is changing, and changing fast. The USA is shaken and shaken bad. With that comes paranoia. The USA is losing credibility and respect in the Western world. That prompted them to want to know everything. Surveillance of their enemies, their friends and even their own citizens are meticulous and ever increasing. Bullying?….

Various allegations and inquiries into American spying on their allies’ heads of state are made in the media, and it has the USA frantically trying to cover its tracks Germany opens inquiry into claims NSA tapped Angela Merkel’s phone”. Say no more

With access to alternative information, to that of the USA state fed propaganda, there is a distinct noticeable change inside America. US citizens are questioning their government more than ever before. The controversial Patriot act that the US government has implemented enables them to monitor millions of phone calls of ordinary citizens. Imagine having a private romantic phone conversation with your fiancé knowing that NSA agents are listening in… The Patriot Act expires tonight and already there is mass fear about NSA spying on social media platforms like Facebook and others. So much so that Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook CEO called president  Obama to relay the fears of social network users – “Mark Zuckerberg called President Obama to complain about NSA surveillance

I have idolized and believed in the USA most of my life. We need a stable, fair capitalist superpower. Access to alternative information has opened my eyes. No longer do I take USA news propaganda, as gospel. The USA has changed into a state that forces their influence across the world by military power and threats. They abide by a win-lose philosophy now. They USA wins and the rest lose. A “If you don’t do what we tell you, we will attack and destroy you. We win and you lose” threat to the World. In contrast to that China and India has a win-win approach. “Let’s see how both of us can benefit” approach to everything. I have personally seen this in dealings with both Chinese and American businesses in the start-up of my own business.

The USA, sadly, has deteriorated into a paranoid surveillance state. A Bully feared by its own citizens. I get cold shivers when all these actions by the USA today, constantly take my mind back to events in the late 1930’s and early 1940’s when the same modus operandi was prevalent in the rise of a growing evil superpower in Europe….

Truth un Silk ed?

The answers will be right here!

So what is my blog all about? The name says it all.

Truth un Silk ed.

I have passion for the truth and as you can see, my nickname is Silk. I believe that all the bullshit we are fed by the media, is all wrapped in silk. So that we accept it and believe it. With this blog I want to unwrap the silk that everything is wrapped in. really get down to the nitty gritty of everything you might wonder about.

From a very young age we are taught and directed within our society and family environments. That is the fundamentals upon which our civilisation is founded. Our lives are moulded or shaped mostly with inputs of information or “truths”. But what is the truth?

In this modern age, information is the be all and end all. The honey that all the bee’s desire. And rightly so. As a result of modern technology, we have answers to all our questions at our finger tips. The internet has physically changed the way our minds work. The way our minds demand – answers. Are the answers we receive to our questions true?

I will answer this with quote: “ Truth is singular. It’s versions are the mistruths”

A tendency that I have noticed in recent times is that more and more people are questioning.

Everything.

From Who am I, am I just a cog in the machine, is there a soul mate for me out there, Is this it, I am successful but something is missing, what is going on in the world, what the hell is USA up to, have I been a good parent to my children, why do others get promotions and not me, what can I do to get out of this debt, etc etc.

Like I said on my About page – I question everything. Everything that the media feed us.

On this blog I will challenge readers with questions. Questions related to everything that affects the normal man in the street’s life. Questions related to everyday life, the world, love, business, relationships, religion(s), the cosmos, spirituality and everything else your minds can conceive.

My ambition with this blog is to get people to question, debate and explore everything.

I will post my views on a vast array of topics and nothing will please me more than you commenting, debating and challenging my views. After all: this blog is about exposing the truth. The real truth.

My first post will be on “ USA – Protector turned Bully?”

About Me

Hi there!

I am a career entrepreneur and I live in Johannesburg, South Africa. I love life and I love a challenge. I am passionate, compassionate and generous. I am also a giver and I strive to help people.  I am logical and a clear thinker. I have raised 3 amazing children – and have been called on that many times. I love adventure and I have questioned everything since I became compos mentis. And that has made my life challenging and very interesting. I don’t accept “standard” answers just for the sake of it. I explore all possible explanations to any question. I explore resources and sources of information that most would not dare to. I am young at heart and fun. But most of all, I am just a normal person who have to deal with the usual challenges that we all have to face, every day.
